The brief for this project was to transform a south-facing area of the garden no longer used for a children’s play area into a space for socialising and entertaining.
A fondness of the Mediterranean landscape stimulated the ideas for a rustic loggia structure with a fireplace and built in seating. Hamstone, with its orange and red hues along with aged oak beams helps create an authentic look to the building, whilst a cobbled stone path, interplanted with camomile, releases an arresting aroma when walked upon. Olive trees and Italian cypress combined with lavender, santolina and herbs complete a genuine Mediterranean planting scheme for this rustic retreat.
